Our Story
Originally from South Louisiana, Jenn studied nursing at Samford University, where she later earned her Family Nurse Practitioner degree. She’s married to Ryan, and together they have five energetic kids. Jenn began her career in traditional medicine, but shifted to a more integrative approach after experiencing her own family's health struggles.
When one of her young children faced severe allergies, relentless eczema, and chronic health issues, Jenn spent years navigating countless specialists and hospitalizations. Frustrated by treatments that only masked symptoms without addressing root causes, she became open to a holistic approach that ultimately helped her son heal.
By examining his history, genetics, nutrition, and lifestyle, she saw significant improvements, igniting her passion for functional medicine. This journey has not only shaped her approach to her own family—especially since two of her other children have faced chronic conditions—but also deepened her empathy for her patients. Jenn believes her experiences have equipped her to make a meaningful impact in others' lives.
What is functional medicine?
Functional medicine is an approach to healthcare that focuses on identifying and addressing the root causes of illness rather than just treating symptoms. It considers the patient’s unique genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors to create personalized treatment plans. By looking at the whole person, functional medicine aims to restore balance and promote optimal health through a combination of conventional and alternative therapies. This holistic approach encourages patients to take an active role in their health and well-being.
